I'm looking to upgrade the CPU on my son's PC which he mainly idea for gaming.
Originally I was going to get the Ryzen 5 3600X but unable to find one so now I'm looking at the Ryzen 5 3600XT but wondering if it's better to just pay a bit more and go for the Ryzen 7 3700X, although I don't want to spend more if it's not necessary.
Can anyone advise which would be best to go for?

Here's one, the 3600 XT is not worth the extra £70.00. You could overclock the 3600.

The 3700X is 8 cores, but around £300.00 nearly twice the price from when I last looked. If you were going to get a CPU for that price, I would recommend Zen 3 instead, as long as you have a compatible motherboard, B450,B550,X570.

Gaming, the 5600X wipes the floor with the 3700X, and is a top rated gaming CPU.
