I will not be placing anymore orders with OCUK until my 3080 pre-order has been filled.
And the way it seams to be going it's possible my Zen 3 order will not be from here.

I went direct in order to get MRSP on my 3080-FE

I noticed the post in this thread with M.2 SSD offers, and it struck me that I bought a Corsair M600 yesterday from the world's largest online retailer, and I didn't even check OcUK for price/availability. That is definitely a change in shopping habit for me.

Why are they so expensive? The direct conversion works out about £420, it would actually be cheaper for me to buy one in the US and have it shipped over than it would buying one in the UK, seems odd

*Note prices are estimation only and are subject to change up or down. US Prices are $799, $549, $449 and $299 plus taxes.

:D

We all know it will be up. I hope people are ready for another gouging.

Nearly £300 for a six core chip? get ******, I've already got a six core 2600 I paid £120 and now six cores is nearly 3 times the price?

Right.

@Gibbo in the days before release will you be able to indicate the level of availability at launch to avoid a similar disaster with the 3080s? I am relatively new to OCUK but would like some reassurances since placing my 3080 order with you guys.

I see my interest waning before Nov 5 after reading more posts on the prices. Paid ~£160 for my i5-8400 and starting to see little benefit for my main reason in wanting to upgrade (gaming at 4K60). May as well wait for benchmarks and plan a 2021 upgrade instead.

At that price the 5600X doesn't seem very competitive. Particularly vs. something like a 10600k @5ghz+ as the IPC gains would disappear due to lower clock speeds. You get an iGPU in the 10600k also ofcourse.

Even at 5ghz it'll still be like 10% behind for gaming. Your paying a bit more for the premium product now as always.
