I watched a video by buildzoid earlier, he said due to ccx changes that latency for 5900/5950 will be the same/similar to 3000 series due to having to traverse the infinity fabric to the IO die, for that reason the 5800X could be the sweet spot for gaming with its impressive single core performance and the unified 8 core ccx, especially if overclocked. If you are using for anything other than gaming then 5900X/5950X might be better. I think a lot of gamers will go for 5900X blindly just from the spec.

And the fact that the 5800X is priced to close to the 5900X.

5 days. I just ordered a set on Sunday. Arriving Thursday. Not technically a competitor since OcUK don't stock G.Skill at all.

What set you buy? I Ordered a new set from G.Skill also, Ripjaws 4266c17 2x16GB (F4-4266C17D-32GVKB). Gonna use with Asus Dark Hero and 5950X If possible to get...

Trident Z 4x8GB 4000c15 with Gigabyte Pro B550. Going to likely be 5950x and 6800xt (not sure can justify the price of the 6900xt) but will use the 16 cores to render.

Sweet, I think 1900+ FCLK will work eventually. Let's hope it's a little easier to get a GPU from AMD on release. Sold 2080ti 2 months ago and is sitting on a 290X now after not getting hold of 3080 :p

Good luck on Thursday all.

Are you sure that ram will actually run at that speed with 4 sticks? For instance the X570 Tomahawk is limited to only 3800MHz when you are using 4 sticks at the same time. Generally you can run faster with 2 sticks of ram than with 4.
