Hi, sorry if this isn't the right thread and if this was asked before, I used search bar to make sure it hadn't. I have a Ryzen 7 5800X3D on pre-order, does anybody (@Gibbo) know how long it usually takes for the order to be delivered? I also have a pair of 8pack's RAMs on pre-order. Thanks for the info.

I understand your logic behind what you are saying. I could save money for a bit of performance loss, and put it towards a GPU upgrade for example. My original plan was to upgrade to 9800X3D once released, but after underwhelming reviews of the new generation for the desktop PC, I changed my mind. Twice actually. I also wanted to go with 7800X3D on AM5 platform, and that wouldn’t be much more expensive than my choice of staying on AM4 with 5800X3D. But I opted for the AM4 platform and my reasoning is as follows - I currently have a Ryzen 9 5900X, so I don’t want the CPU swap become a downgrade. Hence the most expensive AM4 X3D processor and a DDR4 kit with tight timings. I’m planning to squeeze every possible performance reserve out of it as I am planning to stay on the platform until Zen 6 architecture arrives. I only play games and I had my 5900X running as a six-core with one CCD disabled for better fps count in games, while also have the system energy efficient and cool.

As mentioned by another member above, there won't be any more 5800X3Ds available. I cancelled on Wednesday anyway, and ordered a 7800X3D, which means I am upgrading the whole platform.

Text from yesterday's email by OcUK:
Regrettably, we must inform you that your order for the 5800x3D has been designated as end of life by AMD. We have made efforts to procure stock from our suppliers; however, we have been unsuccessful in obtaining any further units to fulfil your outstanding order.
