I'm back baby!
Got a hire car today. 95 2.3 turbo auto.

The car itself looks nice. Nice inside, half leather.

Don't like the general Saab dash and the way it curves round, it means I get earache from passengers about them not being able to see the radio. It doesn't look that nice anyway.

The seats don't go back far enough. For what is a pretty big car I don't fit in it very well and I'm not that much over 6 foot. I even struggle to get in past the steering wheel.

Taking it for an extended drive now so I'll report back further.
 
Its a hire car? So you won't have it long, just do what everyone else does....run it into the ground!!!

Yeah try the cup holder, the design is sheer genius :)

It's an Aero model you should have some fun on the straights once you get out of the low gear. I loved mine, it was an excellent cruiser.
 
I like the 9-5. (Not the new chromy lights one though).

I recently took a '03 9-5 2.0 lpt out for a spin. I really liked it, except the 2.0 engine was underpowered.

I'll look forward to your review on the 2.3l.

I'm after an 9-5 Aero next.:o
 
We had a 9-5 Aero HOT auto as a hire car at work once, it was an animal. 268 odd BHP through the front wheels was pretty manic. Gas it at 80mph on the motorway and the torque steer was pretty violent, let alone from a stand still, and this was from an auto!

I hate the chrome around the lights too though, but love the cup holder ;)

The front tyres were almost bald too, I wonder why :D

It was a nice car though IMO, quiet, comfortable, etc. Certainly wouldn't call it "crap" in the way Fox might ;)
 
Your right fox, those saab cup holders are so 2001. They've really dropped the ball! Mercedes on the other hand have taken up the baton of beverage restraint ran with it then inserted it forcefully up whoever they could find!


Oh lordy lord! Those will HOLD your cups!
 
the torque steer is unreal on the high output turbos..
altho they are not very good cars, i have a soft spot for saab turbos :(

Nursing a semi is the preferred term thank you :p

I'm not going to bother trying to defend it, everyone has their own opinion on them and I have mine, that's the end of it really :)

Plus I've just got back from the pub :p

It'll be cool to see what Gilly thinks of it, the mid-range accleration is impressive on these!
