Kudos to you, I cant wait for Forza 2 shame there is no GT out on the PS3

My 360 has crashed 5 times in the last 2 days, with little blocks all over the screen exactly the same each time. It did it in Rainbow Six first, then quite a few times in Virtua Tennis 3 yesterday. I then moved my 360 back into a vertical position and it hasn't done it since...

If you are not desperate you could wait for the official word on the black xbox?

It's only a matter of time before mines goes now isn't it :(

Well I'm swapping mine in Game on Tuesday. Phoned up and they are ok to swap it, guy on the phone said I could keep my hard drive too. I thought it stopped crashing but VT3 started crashing again, I then went and tried the Brian Lara Demo and that causes it to crash even faster, a minute into every game. My warranty was up in May so thank god it happened now, hopefully I get a nice new unit that will last a bit longer...

My launch machine died today. I phoned up when it started crashing and was given some tests. When they failed and I called back I got told it would need to be sent to MS for repair. However, despite me giving the serial number and saying it was a launch machine the woman on the first call somehow entered it on their system as starting warranty today.

When the second woman told me this she also said she couldn't undo it so I get a fixed machine for free.

Still a pain though, takes about 2-3 weeks according to MS. Luckily my housemate is on holiday for a week so I've nabbed his and plugged in my HDD.

I suspect the 'statistics' will say its selling great but the US is a massive country, where ever i go i see them sitting on shelves and even staff admit they dont sell well at all, $600 is a LOT of money here.

$600 is a lot, £425 is a lot, especially as I still have the scars of my 360's death just out of warranty. Appalling really, my xbox 1 is still going after years, and its used more often, with XBMC installed etc.

Buy a new one from a big company with naff staff.
Take it home dismantle and swap the buggers over...

Of course pay by cash

Now there's a plan! MS deserve it for selling you a substandard product. ;)

Sidenote, but why must all threads degrade into a 360 vs. PS3 debate.

Sony vs Samsung (TVs)
