Comparing Tramiel with Jobs... GTFO please.

I don't think it is THAT far out a comparison.

Within the computer industry Tramiel was as notable in the 80s as Jobs is today. The commodore PET was a big deal in the 70s and the Commodore 64 was huge.

Yes, the C64 only sold 17million but I think they were ahead of Macs by market share at the time. (Not 100% certain of that)

The home computer market in the 80s was dominated by the C64 and in the late 80s and early 90s by the Amiga and the ST. Tramiel managed to gain market share of the home market that Apple can only dream of.

I think that Jobs has had a more profound impact on society than Tramiel - but people forget what a big cheese he was back in the "golden era" of home computing.

The atari ST was like an awakening in my gaming life

I still remember the first time I played Dungeon Master, and fondly remember chopping up the worms with my vorpal blade, then chucking the big heavy bits around
