Safe to heat up yesterday's take away?

It should be fine. It's not advisable to re-heat rice based dishes however; depending on whether the rice was fresh initially or autoclaved as in microwave rice. Fresh cooked rice should not be stored and re-heated.

I've heard this, but I love microwaved rice. I prefer it to fresh rice.

Disagree'd, and thoroughly so. If something's supposed to be hot, eat it hot - cold pizza, pies, chips, chinese, beans & anything else is wrong & disgusting. Personally, I reheat what I can in the oven rather than the microwave - stops pizzas, pies & pasties getting soggy and makes most other things taste better than microwaved equivalent.

You can't beat opening up a tin of baked beens and eating them straight, they've already been cooked so its good to go..

Never known anyone to get ill from rice,
Also it's not the reheating. It's. A slow cool down period that causes the problem, the bacteria release a toxin that is not broken down by heat.

If you're buying microwaveable rice from the supermarket then you have nothing to worry about, it has been sterilised. It's only fresh (hard) rice which has been boiled, kept by for hours and re-heated (or not even) which can pose a danger.

Yup if you whack it in the fridge a bit after cooking it the bacteria can't grow or something. Thats how they do it in the ready meal factories. Puting hot things in the fridge isn't good tho

Never have any left overs anyway :p

Curry only exists to mask the taste of bad meat. Why make that worse by then leaving it even longer?

I always get chicken breast in the curries from from my local? Fair enough if the curry house someone's using is chucking in all the nasty parts though.

Love my regular curry house - have known the owner for years now. A good curry house is like a good woman, once you've found one, you don't stray (very often) :p
