E30s are one car that look stupid with out roofs :(

You must be joking, E30 drop tops look about a kajillion times better than the hard tops!

Agreed. Both of those cars follow the same simple style concept of completely straight line from nose to tail (excluding windscreen of course) which just works so well.

The front and side look great. But the back = :(

E30 BMW convertible is nice when you get a well look after one, but looks very tatty for the rest.

I see Gibbo's future.... what's that? A new car I see?

Hi there

Nope don't like the convertibles! They just don't look right in my eye and I can imagine the handling is badly comprimised by the lack of a real roof.

Plus whats with the horrible rear spoiler, seems completely pointless and looks awful, too much plastic but maybe its required at high speeds.

Apart from that its identical to mine except for a nice bonnet with vents and mmmmm the Supercharger that mine needs.

Anybody who is interested in this car though let me tell you that 435BHP is with a conservative unleaded tune. Get a proper tune for this car from JDM in the US who specialise in Saleen chargers for for Optimax you looking at more like 480-500BHP. :D

I am about to fit some more toys to mine which will give me close to 400BHP N/A and then I need to consider the Saleen blower, if I go with a 3.6 pulley which is 6psi boost I will be running around 520BHP, go with the smaller 3.4 pulley and looking at 550+ BHP which many in the US run and claim is safe but I can't help but feel that would be pushing it a bit too far.....

More weight (because of the strengthening effort), and it doesn't really look as good as the non-droptop. Damn fine engine though :) For a Ford motor....
