Sammy N73 dead pixel

Well, i presume its stuck on, but I can only see it on blue and green colours, not black or white screen, it sort of a really pale blue colour, does that mean its only a stuck pixel, and not a dead one?

EDIT, how do you actually tell the difference, between dead and stuck pixels?

Odd that you cant see it on either black or white. A stuck on pixel would normally show as a 'positive' coloured spot on a black screen, but invisible on a pure white screen. On other colours it would vary depending on how much 'red' was supposed to be in the colour.

A Stuck off pixel is harder to spot, as its black on black, but on white it would normally be visible as a 'wrong' colour. IE if Red is stuck off, that pixel would show up as Cyan (lt Blue)

Remember the pixels are made of three sub pixels, 1 each for Red, Green and Blue.

Dead/Stuck, pretty much interchangeable terms, I guess Dead = stuck off, and Stuck = stuck on?

Hey guys,

Just thought I'd update you all, turns out they will exchange my tv for another one, I have to go instore and change it for a new one.

Just wondering, is there a way of testing for dead pixels instore, before I take it home? I presumed I'm right in thinking I have the right to test the tv before I get it?

cheers

lol, can just imagine a big pile of N73's piled up in the middle of the store, you stood there 'hmmm, nope, there's a dead pixel on the left there, NEXT......' :D

I very much doubt a retailer will open up each TV and allow customer to inspect it. The retailer cannot sell off the opened units as they've been opened.
