If I buy this TV Samsung LE46M87BD will it's built in freeview decoder natively support HDTV when the BBC etc start broadcasting it over Freeview TV?

Basically I don't want to spend nearly £1500 on this TV, only to find when they start broadcasting freeview channels in HDTV that I need a seperate box, because my built in decoder cannot handle it :)

Thanks in advance

p.s. are any channels in HDTV yet?

Well thats a load of rubbish then!

In that case I shall not buy one until they have built in support. Whats the point in 'HDTV' if the built in reciever can't actually display HDTV stations without the aid of an external box

you might be waiting a while mate as most TV's are designed to take HD signals not produce them, a lot of TVs dont even have freeview at all!

the real benefits of HDTV is only gained if you use a PVR set, maybe one that will offer upscaling of standard content as well.

I certainly wouldnt rule this TV out just based on this but do see your point.
