hi all!
just joined :)

well, i am interested in purchasing a samsung 226bw monitor, and i was amazed at all the reviews! i was thinking about buying the 2407wfp dell, but then the price tag, that kinda took me off it, but i'm still interested.

i am currently using a 19" samsung syncmaster 193v, and i have a pny 7600gt, asus p5w, 2gb pc6400 geil ram, core2duo e6600 2.4ghz, and a hiper 580w psu.

the thing is, i was wondering whether i could play games on the full resolution/quality settings on my 7600gt on the 22" samsung 226bw, most of the people i know say you can play it on mid level, but they said if you go over 22" get an 8800 or x19xx :) and also, even if got a 24" dell, what graphics card would you still recommend?

well, i've come here to ask for all of your advice! my budget isn't really that low, maybe about 500 quid.
if anyone has screenshots etc., that'd be great.

thanks, tem07 :)

lol... hitting the 500 quid that is.
well, do you think the 8800gtx will last long? my mobo is crossfire i975x, and if ati have the r600's, whatever, will they support crossfire for the i975x?

also do you think it is worth getting the 24" monitor? the samsung is about 260 quid, and the dell is like 500 quid, and there is a 2 inch difference, and a resolution difference, but the samsung has more contrast ratio... so meh...

will an 8800gts do the job? apparantly, it can :)

thanks for the quick reply about the sig and the topic.
well, if i purchased the 8800gts 640 / 320 mb, will it last me a year or so with the 24" monitor.

and if i kept my 7600gt and bought a 22" 226bw, i will be fine right? but will i have to keep my res down, AA settings lowered?

and also, if i got any 8800 series cards, will they be able to fit in the antec 900 with a asus p5w motherboard? anyone had any experience?

thanks, tem07.

edit
well, yeah, my mobo supports crossfire, and when the r600 or whenever the new ati cards come out, will they be able to run crossfire on my motherboard? because the r600 will be newer and more able to kick ass :) and also they're coming out near my birthday, so eh, it's a tad more fun.

worth getting pci-express man, you'll notice a huge difference for a fraciton of the agp price!
i've used the 7800gs+ for 200 GBP, and man, it's lame! pci-express is soo much faster! 2x faster man! but if you were to get pci-ex, you need a new mobo to support it any maybe a new psu....

moving on. purchased

welll i purchased the asus 8800gts 320mb! well it's a tich late isn't it to get a 768mb! but who cares, idon't game a lot! and i also purchased the 226bw! arriving tommorow!
can't wait! so excited!

THANKS a lot TO ALL THAT ASSISTED ME!!!
