Samsung 24" is flickering and smelling of party poppers

Turned on my Samsung 2433BW This morning and could hear a hissing. The it started flickering. When I turned it off I could smell the smell of party poppers.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say something is fried, but is it easily repairable?

Chances are it will be capacitors, these and the 226BW are known for having cheap capacitors inside.

If you do a search I'm sure I remember someone making a thread about it for the 226BW. If you search on a certain auction site there are kits of replacement capacitors too

Is it easy to do? I may just claim on the insurance and get a 27", I've has this monitor for nearly 4 years.
