Just picked up one of these for a pretty bargainous price, any one have any experience of their performance?

Going to replace my 3x250GB samsung 7200.10s.

Might set them up in a seperate RAID0 partition for gaming

I told myself I wasn't going to but the price and performance is unbeatable.

I could flog my current 250GB drives and almost break even.

Seems to be some weird issue with these and p965 chipsets, the drive appears as only having 33MBs of space.

This drive is really playing up, it doesn't appear in windows vista install screen, keeps forgetting its formatted.

Might have to go back.

I just did a quick format, took a few seconds, could be part of my problems though.

I know the difference, but a modern drive should be fine with a quick format.

I dread to imagine how long formatting a 1TB drive takes for a full format. I guess I'll find out if my drive doesn't start behaving itself though.

Everyone is doing the £100 deal now it seems.

And the original place has well over 800 drives at one point, and has added 200 more several times.

These are really quiet drives, now I've stripped out my 3 7200.10s I can really notice the difference.

I'm not sure why the seek time is so high, mine is around 14secs iirc

I haven't noticed any difference in speed over my 7200.10s tbh, but its a lot quieter than 3 7200.10s whirring away.

You can still hear it seeking, but when its idle I can't hear it at all.
