So if my drives fail within a couple of months I can return them to OCUK?

Really want to get a pair to put in the dual Icy Box OCUK sells but it has problems seeing 2 Spinpoint drives for some odd reason

I just did a quick format, took a few seconds, could be part of my problems though.
hmm ive NEVER done a quick format on any HD i've owned, i was under the impression a full format was always better...

seems to confirm that
all hd's can fail, and if yours doesnt fail would you post about it on newegg? no. i wouldnt advise anyone raid0 these, i mean losing 2000 gigs is a bit

I know the difference, but a modern drive should be fine with a quick format.
I dread to imagine how long formatting a 1TB drive takes for a full format. I guess I'll find out if my drive doesn't start behaving itself though.

well according to that link it basically checks every sector to make sure its good to go

I already knew that & I've got plenty of machines with SATA300 capabilities to set the interface speed, I'm far more worried about chipset limitiations regarding addressing 1tb properly
The chipsets I've seen mentioned with these sorts of issues so far are the older Via & some SIL stuff, hence why I'd appreciate knowing whether anyone has things working.
I'd rather not upgrade the server at this point in time unless I have to- Does the current job nicely.

It was a long wait - stupid City-Link went to the wrong house yesterday and left a card there.
I must say I am not very impressed with the packaging. Previous hard drives (from elsewhere) I've ordered we're much better protected than this. Can't say the name of the company due to the rules.
Does a full format in Computer Management (Vista) tell you if theres any bad sectors? The last time I remember seeing that was back in the DOS days.
What do the jumpers do? One is for 32GB and the other does what?
