Actually that advertising is false. Samsung are NOT the first to feature 667GB platters in a 2TB drive. WD have been shipping 667GB platters on their 2TB Green drive since late May. The model no. is WD20EARS-00MVWB0. I bought 2 from OCUK recently. Would be interesting to see how the WD compares to the Samsung, and if the higher rpm and extra cache on the WD gives it the edge.

Going by the 2 benchmarks, they seem to beat out the 3 platter WD 2TB Green easily, and are almost as fast as the 2TB black with a lot less noise and heat.

I dunno why but I reluctant to buy Samsung drives, still very happy with my twin seagate 7200.11s

Well if these Samsungs are offering close to Caviar Black performance with a lot less heat and noise, then they could be the way to go assuming they are reliable. I have 2 ordered.
