Samsung Galaxy Note: 5.3", 1200x800 SuperAMOLED, S-PEN stylus, 2500mAh attery... *phew*

Got the keyboard (haven't had a play yet) and the USB OTG connector today (if you buy one make sure its an OTG one or some/most devices won't work) - mouse plugs right in no setup or anything needed and seems to work fine :D

EDIT: Had a play with the keyboard and that works nicely too even the touchpad bit on it works to control an onscreen mouse pointer :) (one thing that might not be immediatly obvious the keyboard also has a USB bluetooth adapter for a PC slid into the top of the case - was expecting it to be in the box and was wondering where it was for awhile)

Has anyone had a problem with the microphone in that no one can hear what you say? It works fine when use the loudspeaker option (I presume it uses a different mic?) but when using the phone in a standard way it doesn't work. Most upsetting!

I haven't had the problem but I read about it before buying it. I think it's to do with the noise cancelling feature. Try putting your finger over the microphone on the top of the handset when called, or I think you can temporarily disable the feature in-call.

If that works, then you know the problem and can try to find a more permanent solution...

A few minutes ago I think I discovered the possible cause of the problem, some idiot left the clear sticker that goes around the edge of the phone on. This was covering the mic hole at the bottom and now I've removed it I've been able to make 2 quick phone calls without issue :)

I've just received my note, first impressions are good but i can't help but notice the screen takes significantly more pressure to recognise being touched than my desire did which is proving really frustrating.especially when Swyping add it continuously thinks I've taken my finger off unless I'm pressing quite hard. Is this normal?

Hm I haven't found this to be the case, might be an issue with your phone, the slightest micro touch from my little finger as I use my index finger can often send the Note doing something else, when using the S pen proximity to the screen is enough!

Re batteries i charge mine most nights to bring it up from about 60+% i have the browser open pretty much all the time, apps in the background and games but it's never ran out of power in less than 24 hours, though sometimes the rate at which it loses power varies I put this down to pesky apps.

I reckon if I stayed out overnight I would get nearly the full 48 hours out of it.

Ah I see you sorted it by peeling off the plastic cover.

I think Samsung have surprised themselves with this phone and its success.

I think they saw it as a potential filler for their phone rage but its success in the UK has shown them what a great idea this is. A little larger than a larger phone but with huge creative potential because of a well implemented pen

Well done Samsung.

Cheers for the info, I think that this phone isn't quite up to standard so I've called o2 and to their credit they're sending out another note to me for Monday and picking up this one too.

Question for the other note owners. Can you stream iplayer HD content smoothly through the browser?

Not using the desktop site in the default browser - afaik it uses the CPU rather than GPU to process it so its very choppy - may be a browser or app that can do it on the GPU tho I've not checked. Standard def is fine aside from some minor flickering.

You can get it on phones4u for £99 up front then one year contract at £36 on VF, thats £531 over a year pretty decent if you can't afford to buy it outright. Even then would work out about the same buying it outright and putting in a talkmobile or giffgaff sim. So it's come down a lot in price maybe due to SG3 coming out :D

Or get it from buymobilephones.net for £20p/m on orange, free phone, and 100 mins, unlimited texts and 500mb of data. Just over £480 for the 2 years.

Or even direct from o2 for £200 with £110 cashback (quidco/topcashback) for £10.50 per month, 24 months, grand total ~£340.

Had this phone for a few months now, it is amazing the amount of stuff you can do on it. I am gonna buy a monitor for my room soon with a hdmi out cable for the phone, plus a bluetooth keyboard and mouse and use it as my PC. :D
