Today two different sources on X are claiming something else, however. One says Korean media is reporting that the event will take place on January 23, and the other outright states it will happen on January 22.

If the renders of the S25U are real then I quite like it. I like the iPhone shape with the rounder corners and the S25U looks to be like this with flatter edges. The chip is supposed to be quite a leap again from Qualcomm and the 512gb+ comes with 16gb ram. The only real upgrade with the camera seems to be the ultra wide pixel increase from 12mp to 50mp.

But is it worth it to drop another 700 - 800 notes + my S24U for it? only if I want to keep up with the latest and greatest!

I would guess the "cost of change" at launch should be much lower than 700 if you are prepared trade-in and to sell the free stuff
