Samsung Galaxy S26 Family Thread

Okies, your post did the trick for me :-) Had to do it in Chrome in the end though as Firefox and Brave was giving me javascript:void(0): when attempting to click on "verify with Samsung" button.

I didn't have to log into Samsung weirdly enough.

Phone number verified and NHS email verified using my work's laptop which is home with me as I WFH some days of the week.

Samsung offered £400 for my S23U 512GB pending that it's in good condition (no cracked screen or colour bleeding etc) and just with normal wear and tear e.g. battery.

Code S26AI for £100 off, obviously a generic code that anyone can use.
Code [unique to me] for another £100 also applied ok.
Code PAYPAL4 for another £100 didn't work.

This brought the price of the S26U 512GB (silver) down to £487.15.

Estimated delivery 27th March 07:00-20:00. I could have paid a tenner extra for a shorter slot like 12:00-20:00 but that's still 8 hours so I didn't bother.
I also placed an order for Silver 512gb four days a go and it's supposed to be delivered on 6th March, so the dates have already been pushed back quite a bit by the looks of it.
I plan to compare the 26u to my 24u (albeit nothing to the length or degree of some of these people who pixel peep etc ;-) ) and if the camera etc is an approvement and I'm happy, then it's a keeper.

Here's with mobile data

Also OnePlus 15 / oppo find x9 pro / Xiaomi 17 ultra
That's ok, as the S26u was winning up until the gaming stint, so I'm ok as I don't game on my phone. :-)
But in all seriousness, it's interesting how these usage tests vary so much from one another.

For me personally, I honestly don't have an issue with the battery, it's enough for me, but I know it is an issue for others. I think Samsung are just being cautious for now and they have every right to be, especially from their past experiences.

Yeah cautious for 6 years

High time the Spen also got binned and then makes way for a bigger battery, something people actually can make proper use of.

Personally miss my old Galaxy Note with stylus - but Samsung have totally lost me with the removal of things like the 3.5mm jack and personally I find the camera hole in the screen horrendous - especially on the Fold - or I would have bought a Fold.

Soon coming to the point where Chinese flagships that cost half as much are better phones (if not already) and offer considerably more specs and features for said money.

Ended up ordering an S26 Ultra in silver.

Looks like some of the prices dropped a bit on the monthly contract costs yesterday which made moving networks work out cheaper.

Would have helped if they explained when the PAC request would go through on the form if you requested to move a numbe r- so I've opted to do that and terminate the current rolling one month when I physically have it in my hands as potentially getting cut off for 2 weeks would be "sub optimal". Did a quick check and it looks like I can submit a PAC on the new contract whenever via the website having not needed to do it myself before.

Resale value of Chinese phones is pants as well.

Cheap to buy & no real value on resale.

Had a Oneplus many years ago.....Never ever again
Depends on the brand, Xiaomi flagships still fetch good used money, though HyperOS is nearly just as good as OneUI in almost all areas having used them for a while now between POCO, RedMi and Xiaomi top end models.

I cancelled my S26+ order so I'm assuming that my discount code is still good. It gives £100 off an Ultra if anyone wants it LHR-2W7M-WE52-FFP7

On Chinese phones, I'm not sure if it's substantiated or just a conspiracy, but I'm wary about personal data being phoned home to the communist party. Similar issue with TikTok and its state-owned ByteDance. I'm sure Google isn't much better though and most of us posting in this thread will be in Google's ecosystem regardless to it being a Chinese or a Korean phone.
