Samsung Galaxy S26 Family Thread

Mine was due to arrive between 12:30 and 13:30 today but I'm out at that time. I've had to pay £5 so DPD delivers tomorrow instead as otherwise I'd have needed to wait until Monday. I'm coming from a S24U and also use an iPhone 17 Pro Max daily for business so interested to see how the S26U fairs.

gsmarena review and they state no difference in the display compared to the gs 25u

We saw early reports online that there is a difference in perceived sharpness and definition. Still, after carefully comparing the screens of the S26 U and S25 U, we can definitely say that's not the case - at least with Privacy display turned OFF, which is its default state.

Question guys

Is it worth upgrading from my S24+ to S26+
Dont care about ai features just the camera tech ?
Think this is a very personal or money driven choice - for some they are moving from the S25 to the S26 because why not...? :D Others are happy with their S24 and below and sticking with what they have due to their not being any real "out-there" features for their needs.

Probably worth going to look at one in a store somewhere and then make a decision based on that.

My S26U package has just arrived, but not going to open it tomorrow until the screen protector and case arrive tomorrow. It'd be SO annoying for anything to happen if I rushed to get it out!
I got a blinder of a deal moving back to three though, essentially works out as £635 + my old phone (S23 Ultra) over 24 months, with £179 a month. About £25 a month + phone all rationalised, actual rate is £19 a month haha including the Bud4Pros :) I'd have liked to get the 1TB/16GB RAM variant, but no contract details so just wasnt really worth it.

I bought direct from Samsung, and filled in my PAC code etc in the checkout but no idea if they've actually done anything with it, as the documentation I've got later seems to imply I actually need to go and do it myself, which is slightly annoying.
I really NEED to keep my number so that's my one worry here!

Would it be worth switching from an iPhone 15 plus to the Samsung S26+? Had iPhones since the 3GS, but fancy a change.

Switching between iPhone, Android and Windows phone is quite a big decision to make, especially when you've been with the iPhone since near the beginning.

It's a similar decision to switching between Windows, Linux and Mac on a computer.

In short, I'd stick with iPhone.

As a compromise, maybe get hold of someone's spare Android phone or tablet or try CEX to see how you get on with it. Android is more for tinkering with but it can crash with random app closures, where Apple iOS is more locked down but it just works out of the box.
