I've got an S3 for my work phone and almost every time I turn it on I have to go into the settings and manually select a network, otherwise it says 'emergency calls only'.

Once I've selected the network, EE, it then works fine.

Is this an issue with the phone or with the network? Need to know who to contact regarding this cos it's bloody annoying!

It's much more likely to be the SIM itself not starting correctly (on phone boot it will do an encrypted handshake to authenticate the phone onto the network, sort of like swiping a pass through a security door). Any chance you're within range of an EE store? You could phone up and get them to send you a replacement to your door too usually.

Did you check? - most telcos can replace SIMs using the instore process and not have to go through the in house phones person as it's essentially the same process for consumer as sme / ent.

I work for the kind of company that document everything, if they found out that the sim card was replaced and wasn't the same one that they'd issued to me, there would be problems!
