Samsung Galaxy S3 Or iPhone 5?

I'm in this exact same situation - never been a better time to buy a new phone lol, I sold my iphone 4 (non S) last week, so now i'm looking at buying a new phone sim free, gonna be either an iphone 5 or an S3..

At this point totally unsure which one, everybody I speak to says the S3 is the one to get, it has the best specs and is just generally the best. I did have a play with an iphone 5 down on regent street on Friday and it did feel like a really nice object...

However i've got a feeling it's gonna be an S3 - if I don't like it I can always sell it and go for an iphone 5.

out of the 2 i picked the s3

better screen resolution, the PPI is almost on par with the retina display.

720p = HD films which you can watch on your tv
also you get full screen remote desktop if you set your home monitor at 720p

also the screen is so nice. orgainic leds have no viewing angles and the colours just pop out of the phone.

Ive owned the iphone 3g 3gs 4 and 4s and the galaxy s2 and now the s3.

the s2 isnt as nice as an iphone 4 display but the s3 has an amazing pixel count.

yes the android market has less apps, but now i think about it 3/4 of the apps on the apple store are rubbish or unnecessary.

It boils down to what OS you like.

Dude seriously it is just on your taste really, just pop into a shop and try both of them, which ever you like just get it. If your not in any rush I would wait for the new Nexus phone, it offers you a clean and beautiful android experience.

I'm in a similar position too you right now so I will give you my personally ideas on this. The iPhone 5 is an amazing phone, I love the look and design, and all around the OS and ecosystem is really good. iOS does miss some really important things for me that I get on android, but more so I hate that apple remove basic features, e.g. SD card support, notification LED. The newest Nexus on the other hand has android so I am happy, and the current one has a nice LED light, I just really hope it has top end internals because up till now Google have been making phones that are always behind the curve.

It is a tough choice but it really is one you need to make, in terms of benchmarks the new iPhone is the king of the hill, but it will make almost no difference between a good android phone on JB.

Here is an amazing iPhone5 review, it is a rare one which is very balanced and doesn't just say apple is god.

You've said "amazing" so many times in this thread that the word has lost all meaning.

I'll be in the same position at the beginning of March and if you'd asked me a month ago I'd have said I'd be having the S3, especially having tried my brother in law's. However, since then I've also used my sister in law's iPhone 4S and loved it. Of course, since then the iPhone 5 has come out ...

It's a massive about-face for me, especially given my rather partisan posts in the Apple vs Samsung patent court case thread, but my choice is now the iPhone 5. I still hate the way Apple does business regarding its patents and I'm probably being a huge style whore, but I just think Apple has the whole mobile OS thing nailed.

*hangs head in embarrassment*

I personally prefer android platform as it’s highly customisable, I’m still using Galaxy S2 which is still an unbelievable phone. I think both iphone5 and S3 are good phones, S3 bigger screen is going to give you better experience when using apps and browsing the internet.
Also I think you can get a better deal with S3.

I dunno mate, I think every Android fan should try iOS once. I did, went from a Nexus One to an iPhone 4. It was a big step back then and I loved the iPhone. Eventually I got bored of it though, and Android matured a lot in the intervening time. So I grabbed a Galaxy S2 and didn't look back. iOS is just too staid and boring for me these days.
