*** Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Thread (it can fold and everything) ***

Yup, I've also received my clear case on Friday. My two tablet trade in has also been successful and completed. Got a bit worried for a sec as one was accepted a week earlier than the other.

I'm one month in now with the fold 7 and love it! It's generally used unfolded, much nicer to interact with apps, websites, controls etc. I foresee difficulty adapting to a normal slab phone after this.

The only problem I've found is finding a case that protects, fits correctly, charges and sticks to my car mount and also importantly, looks and feels good.

That being said, I am tempted to test out one of these, but it's not exactly looking like the mother of all phone protection :D -> https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008119909910.html?

I've just won a Z Fold 7 on a competition site so I'm looking forward to it arriving.

I've been genuinely happy with my Honor Magic V3 over the last year and spec for spec the Z fold 7 is a downgrade in almost every way, so I'm not sure whether to chuck it straight on eBay or open it up and give it a go for a week before deciding which to keep.

How's everyone getting on with theirs?

Have you won anything before? Is it worth joining the site can you let me know?

My Honor Magic got smashed by the recliner, Doh!! Currently slumming it on a Mi 9 after the insurarnce declined to repair it and just paid out, the Mi 9 is so slow and old, really need a new phone, holding out for tri-fold.

Really hoping this tri fold drops soon, definitely want to go back to Samsung, Honor software is so janky, especially on the multitasking and Dex side.

The Honor was very good hardware, if they could just match Samsung on Software I wouldn't hesistate to buy another.

No hesitation despite the risk of folding screen failure? Do you just keep devices whilst within warranty/insurance period?

Not really a serial upgrader and not someone who worries about what could happen, any phone can break, on my magic the folding screen actually survived the recliner incident as it is flexible, the front and rear glass broke though, which would happen on any phone, other phones wouldn't have left me with a spare screen to use :D I would have hung on to my Magic until the tri fold drops, no reason to change, the software wasn't bad enough to switch, just a bit of a frustration.

Pocket tablet is what I have been waiting for, the current folders are not really great for media, needs nearer 16:9 ratio

The only fold that failed for me was my fold 4, it was fixed in the end with Samsung, not ideal but **** happens.

Fold 4 is all I've had previously, it failed a month after I sold it. So I got lucky but it still made me think.

I am a serial upgrader/gadget purchaser. I'm currently typing this on a Microsoft Surface Duo. 5 year old phone that offers a big chunk of what the Fold did for much less. Should be much more durable being two separate screens but that does mean the media experience is completely spoiled in terms of large screen but grey for media+any other task.

Funny that your flexible screen survived what the rigid ones wouldn't. There's always an upside :D

Has anyone else noticed their call volume being a little bit on the quiet side? It might be me and my old ears, but I'm finding the call volume a little low on my fold 7 :( it's my only complaint and apart from a factory reset I've tried all sorts of fixes but nothing has made a difference.

I'm putting it down to the design of the phone and it being so slim, the speakers must be tiny, but I could be wrong.

compared to the s25 ultra yes

My Samsung Folf 6 case has broken again (the front one) - I have only had 2 because the first one was free and the second I had a store voucher.

As you probably know the front is so flimsy - anyone care to recommend other cases - would like one that holds the pen (I never use ;) just in case.

It is a nice device, I checked one out after discovering the tri fold will not release in the UK, but I went cheap and bough another Honor Magic, this time a V5  within 1 hour I was regretting my decision when it would not work on my 8yr old car kit that has been fine on ~20 phones. Why do I do it, Chinese phones :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Back rocking the original Fold 5G, think this is my 3rd since the release. Good condition ones are getting harder and harder to find now so i got lucky picking up an insrance replacement. Pleasantly surprised how well it holds up for a 6 year old phone and the narrow form factor is more agreeable to me than the subsequent sequels, lot more manageable with one hand. Downsides are no more updates, and it's a bit heavy.

Funny how when you become a bit bored and disillusioned with modern offerings you look to the past. I've had so many cool phones over the years, I'd love to tracked them all down but it's a damn shame the software renders a lot of them unusable today however.

Samsung’s latest update caused similar issues for a few UK users.
Booting in Safe Mode usually helps identify if it’s an app conflict.
