I have the samsung myself, lovely TV, but in a few weeks there will be a new model to replace it, so you may want to look at that. Also try searching the forums first, because this question gets asked so often.

Yeah I did a few searches and couldnt quite find anything in particular. I did find the bit about the new tv's coming out. They will be dearer I expect though and as my budget is stretched enough already I am hoping these will drop in price as the new ones come out.

I dont really watch much TV but just fed up of having this lumpy CRT type 26" tv in my room :(

If you waited for the new Samsung series to come out, the R74/R73 series prices will drop. But I definitely recommend the Samsung LE26R74BDX. What will you be using the TV for?

Well if it has DVI then probably for when I am using the music studio as everything will fit on the screen then :)

Any other time it'll just be watching DVD's, PS2 and normal TV

I am not one for amazing gadgetry and plugging it all in to huge systems etc etc.

I just dont want my bulky old tv anymore it's a pain in the proverbial :p

I have a 23" and 32" samsungs of these variants and I'm well happy with both of of them. I think the prices of both these models will be coming down when the new ones arrive.

The Samsung sounds just right for your needs, 2 Scarts for the PS2 and DVD's, it has VGA not DVI, but an adapter can be used, and the TV is HD ready so is future proof for upgrades.

I use mine as my monitor and it gives a very clear picture and accurate photo editing.

Excellent news, 1 more month of saving and it'll be mine (and hopefully a little cheaper next month then)

They should come down a bit in price by then, how much have you seen them for at the moment, I got mine for £450 just before Christmas, 'twas a bargain.

I've also been looking at this 26" model and can't decide if the new model is really worth waiting for or not.

One of the main high street chains are now doing the 32" for £599 which is the same as they also sell the 26" for. I know online would be cheaper, but looking around the 32" can be found for about £550 which isn't much cheaper and would rather pay the extra £50 to buy locally.

Would I reall be wasting my money going for the 32" at £599 while on offer?

Not at all, it's a bargain for such a great TV. The new series has improvements for HD as well as a different look, so you might not see much difference in quality unless your using HD/PS3 ect. The price is low because of the new series coming out, so you better buy it quick before they sell out/if they sell out.
