Anybody bought one of these?

Just ordered one after spending weeks looking for a perfect monitor for work and play. Seems all monitors are a compromise, just hope I have made the right choice. It will be mainly used for coding with some gaming thrown in for good measure. It came down to the Neo G7 or this. OLEDs where out due to poor text quality and probably static screen burn.

I've had one before but ultimately just found it to be too wide, I switched to a 38" UW and found it to be a nice compromise esp with the extra vertical space

Then I went mad and got the PG48UQ, which tbh I'm not finding it has any issues with text.
Hey mate,
Long time!
I’m coming from a very old 34” Samsung UW bought from the MM probably 8 years ago. Still going strong, one of my daughters is going to have it. So it boiled down to this or the G7 Neo. I made another post about the 38” 4K Predator but the G-Sync module and the little fan put me off.

See how it goes, my main concern is the poor Samsung quality control and getting a Friday monitor with issues. Luckily returns should be covered on this.

Just an update for people that are thinking about buying one of these.

Received my screen yesterday and luckily it's perfect. Screen is an absolute gorgeous and is a delight to use for coding. I am blown away by the HDR in games, can't believe what I have been missing.

It's an amazing bit of kit and highly recommended for those thinking of pulling the trigger.

I've never bought an ultra wide before, I'm torn between an Ultra wide or the 360hz standard 27" format Asus Monitor.

Would you recommend the samsung for most generic work tasks as well? as some older reviews of previous models knocked it for its usage there.

Of course the HDR benefits seem enticing :) and are you actually getting the 240hz experience in any games?
I spent quite a bit of time looking for a general purpose monitor which was good at everything. This was the closest I could find but obviously at a price.

My work flow is teams, outlook, open documents, browser with multiple visual studio instances running. This monitor makes a joy to use.

No regrets and really cheap when you compare it to a high end graphics card. How often will you change monitors.

I miss my g9. Had the original then sold it for the neo. Unfortunately i had several and they all had issues. Got the alienware qdoled now but still miss the size if the G9. Its so immersive
Luckily I received a good one, it was a bit of a concern before buying. But then again you have this with every display, shouldn’t be the case. Just imagine if graphics cards or CPU’s came off the production line with issues that plague monitors.

I have run the Eizo Monitor Test and also ran the test with my 17 year old son. We can’t see any FALD or DSE issues, uniformity is spot on. Reading on Reddit they seem to suggest FALD issues affect every panel. No popping, coil whine, flickering.… obviously not every panel is affected. May be Samsung sorted out all the issues with the newer panels.
