Bought two of these monitors today and was looking for a firmware update but could not find it on the website.

Does anyone know if there has been a firmware release for this monitor? If so, where do you find it on the website? Under the manual and downloads, I can see "Device Install" and some other monitor utilities but no mention of a firmware.

Thanks in advance.

Yup, the update was easy enough to do.

Word of advice to others who have recently bought this monitor and or not overly content with the HDR side of things. After the update, I downloaded the windows HDR calibration tool and followed the instructions, I must say, it is a night and day difference in games for me. The games never looked this eye popping beautiful before. Cyberpunk 2077 looks incredible during day time, Jedi fallen survivor looks almost photorealistic outdoors and even non HDR games like Guild wars 2 look amazing - worth a shot.

I updated mine a couple of days ago to 1007. Not sure what it fixed to be honest but was able to calibrate the HDR a lot quickly this time - not sure it had anything to do with the update but yeah. I always use one of these monitors on PC with HDR always turned on as I just can't be bothered to play around with settings in SDR and it has worked for me thus far.

I created another thread here about the issue I have had with these monitors after returning them once to Samsung and then buying again from another vendor. After countless tries, searching online for the fix, I finally found the fix and that was simply the case of pressing the OSD buttons whenever you want to go into bios or windows safe mode. That's it....just keep the monitor awake when you reboot and the monitor will post those screens rather than going into a standby loop.

I'll have to try that with my G8, Nearly always when rebooting it will be completely black so I can;t get into the bios until it comes to the Windows login screen.

Yeah, give it a go. I was about to return the monitors yet again last week until I just came across an old forum post about the samsung non neo g7 model going into standby when you wanted to go into bios.

It is just odd that a £1000 monitor has no feature to let it not go into sleep like this. None of the power saving or eco timer settings work to address this.

Install was straightforward for me. Can't say I've noticed much of a difference or menu options. I'm using HDMI 2.1 with my PC.

I'd be interested if the incredibly slow initialization with Display Port has been fixed as only using HDMI 2.1 with my main PC to work around it and would like to free up a HDMI port if I can.
Yeah, installation was ok. One thing they definitely not have fixed is the monitor going into standby loop if you boot windows into safe mode or trying to get into bios on restart without needing to press the OSD buttons to keep it awake. What a shame.

Not seeing any new inputs in the menu so doubt anything new was added. I too hope they fixed the DP lag as I am thinking of hooking up both of mine to my pc (currently one is exclusive to PS5) with DP cables.
