That's just for the panels. The actual monitors containing The panels could come even later I'm afraid.

There's no reason why this LCD module won't appear in a new DELL 27" LCD, DELL did use a Samsung PVA panel in the 2709 if I recall correctly.
This monitor is certainly the most intresting monitor release the latest couple of years.
Though I am a bit worried that Samsung wont release any 1080p monitor with PLS. Kind of is an indication that this monitor isnt suitable for gaming.

It's not that it isn't suitable for gaming - more that it was never the primary focus of the technology. At the moment it is being restricted to quite 'high-end' uses which follows the same pattern we saw with IPS when it was initially introduced. Now we have more affordable 23" 'E-IPS' monitors with 1080p resolutions and even have some on the way specifically marketed towards gamers. Just because Samsung don't have a 1080p PLS panel in the pipe for the very near future doesn't mean we won't see one - likewise it is not an indication that the monitors will be poor choices for gaming.

There are a few drivers here. The push for aggressive grey-to-grey response times and a resolution which conforms to what is, like it or not, the current 'entertainment standard'. Panels in that resolution are also cheaper to produce and cheaper for the end-user. It isn't that a monitor has to be 1080p to be marketed towards a gamer, but that is the reality in this situation. I am very much hoping the SA850 and the 24" version will make excellent (albeit expensive) gaming monitors.

At the inicial presentation they said that pls-panels were a bit cheaper to produce then ips. We don't know, but I hope it won't be more expensive then the Dell U2711.

The more I keep looking at this monitor the more I want it.
Not to mention the build quality/warranty should be a lot better than the HZ27WC (which I am sending back)
I just hope the wait is not to long for it to be released.

A May release date for the SA850 would be fantastic but I am quite concerned with the lack of recent information about the monitor. I know the panel is due to be released in May but that places the monitor release at May at the very earliest. I think that is very optimistic really but do think it is best to wait. Even if that waiting lasts longer than a month.
