Sandy beaches in the UK?

When we went to WSM there were turds all over the beach and in the water. There were people letting their donkies defecate all over the place. Grim place, and to top it off there was a slug in my salad. :o
Yep - 'tis almost as bad as the ironically named "Great" Yarmouth. :D

Doh! DP instead of edit. :o

A nice beach is one thing, a sea that's actually fun to swim in is a whole other topic. Come over to Greece, it's 40c right now and it's damn good weather for a swim. :p

We have a nice beach and aren't soft.

:p

Tell me more please. :)

BEACH: Camber, East Sussex
HOW TO GET THERE: Off the main A259 coast road via the B24.The nearest town, Rye, has rail links to Ashford and Hastings. A bus service operates from Rye to the beach. A new cycle trail between Rye and Camber is being extended towards Hasting and the Kent Border.

Sandy beach with the only dunes in East Sussex and facilities including: windsurfing; surfing; canoeing; sailing; jet-skiing; cafe/ restaurant; slipway; deckchair hire; dog restricted area; dog exercise area; pay parking; crazy golf; campsite; wildlife reserve; amusement arcade; leisure centre; lost child centre.

Bournemouth beaches are the best tbh. The sand is the best you'll get. Of course, it's just an artificial beach, hence why it's so nice :)

They actually did the 13 year replenishment over the last 12 months, it's about twice the width now :)

i go to a place called Tenby every year, great for surfing and shorter distance to travel than cornwall (at least for me) and theirs loads of sandy long beaches.

Frinton is nice when it's sunny. The water's cold if not though. Got really warm last year which was nice, and a bit of a shock. Not used to getting into the sea and not shivering :o

Then on the same strech is frinton, clacton.

Many memories there!! :p

Snap :D

Probabs stay away from clacton though ;)

Bournemouth by far, and Sandbanks just up the coast if you fancy a walk.

Great going to uni next to a great beach. :) Great meeting your coursemates when they're in their bikini's! ;) You'll see what my coursemates look like in my fancy dress thread a while back :p

Seconded! :D
Thirdeded, fourthded, fifthded whatever we're up to :D

Long flat beach and the tide goes out a long way. Lots of sand dunes to play on and if you're a dad you'll get talked into buying a blow up boat ;)
