SandyBridge 5.724GHz

Good to see there are atleast two at 5.7Ghz+ now....if not more!
Ignore the haters (as i'm sure you will)...they don't get overclockers!:p

Thats a brilliant result...but 1.668v ? The max safe voltage is 1.38v even for the 2600k. If it's still alive, I don't expect it to last very long.

There are many people on here that have managed 5GHz on or below the max 1.38v. Also, is it stable ? No posts from the OP.

Guys, its supposed to be a suicide run, the op knows what she is doing. Sheesh. Its not an excercise designed to be "prime95 stable". Its just seeing whats possible, heck getting into windows at that speed is an impressive feat :)

Just saw this:
"Yes I am water cooling for the benching.

Under loads my temps are below 68'c for Wprime 1024mil which is the most taxing of them all.

What needs to be understood is that I only keep my benching rig powered up for the time it takes to get into OS and run the benchmark. Once I have the screen shot it is powered down. My CPU's do less work than 99% of all CPU's that are sold I guess. Yes they work hard for the 6 minutes that they are powered up. But the rest of the time they do not work. For my testing of benchmarks I use my not so good CPU's. In 5 years that I have been benching I have not had one CPU die on me. Not one.

*Edit...husband has bought me a single stage that will be used in the future."

I see : P

Even if the run was J4F its still impressive. Doesn't really matter if it won't prime95 but I would love to see a 1M SuperPi time at that speed. :D

There you go.

Hey i can get my 955 to over 5ghz too if leave it at desktop and just run cpuz....... but then thats not a real overclock is it??

Repost this when you have it prime95 stable on blend for at least 8 hours. Also post temps, cooling solution and screen grab of prime95 running+cpuz.

calm down luv, its only a commercial. OP never claimed it was prime stable or that it was any kind of operationally stable at that speed.

I sure as hell wouldn't want to prime my Sandy at 1.67v

Very impressive. Being a suicide run is very upderstood, tried a few on my current phenom and can't get above 4.6ghz with voltages that im comfortable with.

To those who are saying go for 6ghz etc, its not possible without BCLK increases and we know these are a no-no on sandy , 57 is the max multi on them
