Sandybridge Mobo

I'd say go for gigabyte. I bought an Asus p67 and had so many problems with it to start with. The BIOS is awful. I used a gigabyte p45 for a long time in my Q6600 setup and it was the best board I ever owned.

Just an update ive just ordered:

Asus P8P67 DELUXE P67

Intel Core i5 2500K 3.3GHz Socket 1155 6MB Cache Retail Box

G Skill Ripjaws 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600mhz Cas9 Dual Channel Memory

Ive also got the latest 12.04 bios downloaded and ready to flash.

Good choice on that board even if I do say so myself.
Since I updated the bios/drivers etc I haven't had a single issue with this board.

sorry to highjack this thread but I see several references within this threat to P8P67 problems. Grateful if you could give specifics on these as I am having a nightmare with my new build (as just posted in a seperate thread!)

Cheers

I think you are correct maj, this is what the Gigabyte web site says:
As explained by Intel®, after a period of usage the SATA 2 ports on motherboards based on Intel® 6 series B2 stepping chipsets may experience decreasing performance. This issue applies to all motherboards based on Intel 6 series chipsets from every vendor. However, it will not be an issue for systems that connect to the SATA 3 ports only. Intel® announced this issue and stated that they stand behind their products and are committed to product quality in the following online alert: “Alert for Intel® 6 Series Express Chipsets and Intel® Xeon® C200 Chipsets users” which release by Intel, Jan 31st, 2011. http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/sb/CS-032263.htm
