Sapphire pure innovation memory channel problems??

hi there
i just got a sapphire pure innovation motherboard but i'm having problems installing windows. it says that it can't copy some files and yet the cd was a fresh burned xp pro cd (its legal! msdna!) i was thinking it could be one of the memory channels as i had problems putting ram in there and getting the install to even come up!! anyways ... the latest bios is flashed on. could it be a bad sb450?? or maybe i need a new drive??

any suggestions welcome!

spec:
xp3200 winny core
sapphire pure innovation mb
2gb gskill pc3200 and 1gb ocz plat rev2 to test ram slots
powercolour x1800xt
cooled by an xp120 with quiet fan
3 hard drives plugged into sata channel 0.1 and 2

is it when its loading up some files for the setup of windows xp? have you tried running memtest on your memory? and also trying other components in a mates computer or getting a local pc shop to test it out for you?

i've used memtest from knoppix

errors were all over the place when i was using dual chan before the flash but single chan was ok

i tried installing windows single chan ... no success =(
