But yeah, it's pretty unbelievable someone like her has managed to get into a position of relative power.
 
It's important to remember, if it wasn't for Sarah Palin, there was a real chance that Barack Obama would not be president now. Yes, he did run what was arguably the best election campaign in history, but a significant portion of the electorate were compelled to vote for him, by Sarah Palin. This stereotype that the majority of American citizens buy into hers and the Tea Party movement's nonsense, is nonsense.

I disagree she can say what ever she likes. ;)

The thought of her becoming President is a truly scary one. She has backed to the hilt several other people in the recent US mid term elections, those people have equal if not even more bizarre views than her yet the Americans lap it up.

As said provided you keep her away from significant power (I don't mind her too much staying in Alaska) then you're welcome to her. Just make sure you stick to your part of the agreement.

I'm wondering if her apparent inanity at least partially comes from the fact that she's in the spotlight relatively more than most, that's not to say she hasn't said some stupid things but I'm sure for most of us we've all said things that are just plain dumb from time to time.
 
I must confess, I too would hit Sarah Palin like the fist of an angry God. Which I do feel embarrassed about considering I think she's a Bible thumping, red neck retard.

Nah, no need to be embarassed about it, its a guilty pleasure after all. If it made sense then it wouldnt be a guilty pleasure (though admittedly in the guilty pleasure thread it did seem that 80% of the people didnt understand what a guilty pleasure was)

To be fair, you can't expect her PA team to write everything fo her. She is going to have to speak for herself sometimes and when that happens, he PA team know that their job just got a little harder.

The worrying thing is that Americans seem to be rather enamoured with people that are like themselves. A good rule to follow is to have smarter people than yourself make decisions that you don't understand. Unfortunately she taps into their patriotism and their love of a good old soccer mom.
