I belive this is possible, buy the software, and by a GPS receiver ?

simple, get a copy of tomtom for your phone, and a bluetooth gps reciever, install the software, connect the reciever to your phone and voila its done

I am going to be buying a 1Gb card anyway.

so I was wondering, does the sat nav software need its own memoory card?
coz i dont want to buy 2 when 1 Gig should be plentry for everything

I just bought a 1GB card mate and it should be plenty for your needs, including GPS.

By the way guys I just got a copy of Tom Tom 5 for my N70, but like a proper plonker I can't figure out how to add the maps to the program... how do you do it?

Fellas, be careful as OCUK do memory cards too.

Didn't realise, edited it out. Still need the maps question answering though if any helpful person can tell me how to add em to my N70. :)

Nope, just root is fine. I think the folder name does need to have the word "Map" in it, though I'm not 100% sure on that.

Ahhh Desmo I meant to email you of thanks about what you sent me! Been busy with work man and it slipped my mind! Anyway my hearty thanks. :)

So the final verdict on how to add a map is...?

No problem mate :)

Just drop the map folders into the route of the mem card.
Mine looks like this --> E:\Tom Tom 5 Map - Great Britain

funny way to organise your memory card isn't it.

It would be ideal to have

e:\TomTom5\everything in this folder!

not so simple these mobiles are they. lol

Just looking at the GPS receivers and theres so many!

i assume i have to get a Bluetooth 1.2 complient one ?

Do i really need a 30 chaenel one ? or should i get a 16 ? or a 12 ?

any recoemendations of which receiver ?

Thanks for all help :)
