So my gf is "th3 suxz" at reading maps and has told me that some form of computer orientated direction device is the way forward for her. Apparently it has to have images and voice. ;)

If you were to have a budget of £100 - £150 what would you buy?

Tom Tom One still good?

TomTom any time tbh

However, how about a WinMO PDA with built in GPS? Used to have it in my old touch diamond - was really good when you're out and about on foot to quickly check google maps and use TomTom in the car. The software's just as good as the dedicated units.

You might need to look second hand to get software and PDA within that price, but does give a bit more than a standalone unit. If she's due an upgrade on her phone contract, could be a cheap way of doing it. :)

You can buy a perfectly adequate "Navigo 3.5" Sat Nav V2 PLUS with UK Maps, Full Postcode Search, MP3 & MP4 player, Bluetooth and FM transmitter" for £57.49, leaving you at least £42.51 for four or five decent bottles of wine - RESULT!
