SATA 1 or 2 on Gigabyte Mobo?

Hi guys there is a Samsung F3 500 Gig drive that is SATA 2 but all I can find on the UD5 mobo is that it is just Sata which I would assume is the first version which came out years ago. Can anybody confirm if that drive is compatable in connection terms with the UD5 ? ( As far as I can tell the UD5 uses the L shape)

What model UD5?

All UD5's support SATA 2

x58 , I just also wondered if it supported serial SATA 1 also, say for like dvd burners

I've spec'ed up the rest of my components on another website, ofcourse I can't say where but it works out £25 cheaper there than it does here for the I7 build which I'm finishing off.. humm, and thats mainly down to price of the mobo which seems to have gone up.
