Hey, really basic question, I hope. I dropped my laptop and either the graphics card is busted or the screen is, sucks but hey, I'll get over it. What I do need is the data on the 2.5" HDD, has lots of work stuff and holiday pictures which mean a lot to me. I've taken the HDD out and checked it's SATA but my question is do I need some kind of converter from 3.5" SATA which I have in my desktop or will the laptop 2.5" HDD fit in any SATA port?
2nd is what happens if I put in 2 HDDs in my desktop both with windows vista installed on them? (Both different serial numbers and completely seperate installs) Do I get to choose which one to boot up and will the other one just function as a 2nd HDD?
The laptop is a Samsung R70 which is about 2 years old and it's a 120GB Fujitsu 2.5" HDD, model MHW2120BH, one of these jobbies: http://www.fujitsu.com/us/services/computing/storage/hdd/mobile/mhw2160bh-sata.html
Thanks for your help in advance

Cheers for the info, that'll save me a bit on not buying a converter. If I were to boot up from my primary 3.5" HDD would I still be able to acces the laptop HDD and be able to copy all the files I wanted?

yes again, its basically the same as with any 3.5" HDD, no difference apart from the size ;)
