Save The Children launch first campaign in UK

Not really, they're not allowed to follow you for more then 3 steps, so they essentially have to be rooted to the spot. Which is a step in the right direction.

But they're a blight on Britain's streets, i want them wiped of the face of the earth.

I presume that the finances of those involved have been fully examined to ensure no money is being wasted on tobacco, alcohol, sky tv, contract mobiles, high speed internet and unnecessary purchases before help is given?

Or is this another example of the misuse of poverty to refer to those who have a household income below a certain level and are irresponsible with money.
Pretty much how I feel about it.

In the UK a child in proverty 9 time out of 10 is because of rubbish parents. My parents brought me and my brother up on less then what would've been minumum wage in the 80's. We did alright in the end because my parents wern't mental

Seeing these "poor" families with multiple kids being interviewed on TV. You got the mother sitting on the sofa smoking, one kid playing some game on a iphone, ipod or ipad, other kid watching Sky Sports HD and the last kid on his Nintendo 3DS. They don’t seem so poor to me!!

It's a solution to solve the obesity problem, very well thought out by the government if you ask me. It is well documented that the poorer you are the less healthy you eat/cant afford gym membership and hence more likely to be obese.

There is even a thread on the sports forum about regular fasting, this is a very well thought out master plan by the Tories bought about to save the health of the poor. :p;)

Yeah, sit in the middle of the desert somewhere in Africa and starve for a week in nothing but underwear with flies all around you then i might have some sympathy. Looks like she's in quite a nice house! It all seems a bit fishy to me

That's the daily mail definition of poor. (Which is also a complete fabrication.)

17k per year would not keep a family going in a lot of places in this country.

Maybe 5 people in London yeah, most places it would be more than enough. Does it take into account the masses of benefits thrown at families like child benefit and working tax credits? Some of the quotes mention spending £100 a week on food, that would feed 6 people.

It says that 6.5% of households earning over £30k a year skipped meals because they couldn't afford food, I don't really find those statistics credible.

And statements like “My family has to think carefully about the things we spend our money on" are meaningless. A lot of this is nonsense.
