Saxxxo VTR

Looks like i'm just gonna have to suffer the £1600 until I get 1 NCB.

Unless something can be done about this Named Driver Experience.

Surely they must be ringing these company's up to get such good quotes...................

Is a 2000W Reg VTR 90bhp or 98bhp?

Got a quote from Quinn today of £1275 tpft PP. Nobody else comes anywhere near that so I'll probably go with them.

Just gotta find one I like now:D

I'm just struggling to find one up for "private" as I could probably knock them down............unlike a dealer.

Plenty up for £2995 at dealers, it's worth £2700 private so hmmm :)

Bell Insurance, Saxo VTR, Fully Comp, 18 yr old with 1 NCB....
£4034?!

Yep, I get the same on fully comp.

I've just gotta realise that if I drive like a nutter, the chances of me having the car for a decent period of time is low!!!

I've now gotta decide what colour I want.

My favourite is Poisedon blue, followed by the moonstone bluey colour :p ...........I do like black, but black with no A/C in the summer = Murder :)

A 2000 W reg will be the 90bhp. My 2001-X reg with 24k miles on it in THE rarest colour was £2900 just to give you an idea. My mate bought an X reg from a dealer with 38k on the other day for 3100.

Nah, the most common boring colour. Cheap to get parts for.

My old one - Marautius blue is the nicest I reckon and quite rare. Zest Yellow is too in your face for most people so I won't try suggesting thats the nicest colour :)

Perhaps that was why my quote was low.............I used a W reg plate car :( when I want a 98bhp VTR.

Thats rubbish tbh :D ..........i'm a 10 and it wasn't a problem.

One last pimp for icelandic ;)

That is the one I want...........superb colour.

Is it worth fitting a toad if I get one or just a standard CAT1? I'll be keeping it standard but you never know.

It doesn't have one no. As far as fitting one goes, I never so much as even had someone look at it, let alone try to break into it. If you want it for peace of mind, go for it, I couldn't be bothered though.

Also, I seem to rememberthat icelandic wasn't available until quite late on in the saxo's production, early MK2's weren't available in it. What is your budget again?

£3k

It's either that Blue, Poisedon what ever it's called or Silver.

tbh, I haven't seen many icelandic saxo's in my price range.

I "think" 51 plate was the first Icelandic Grey registration plate.

So it's a grey then lol.............it looks different everytime I see it:D

I might just wait around to find one.

Silver is ok.............but doesn't look special really. The Blue is nice...........dominated by chavs and nothing really distinguishes it from a Furio.

Is icelandic grey available on the Furio???

(Waiting for cymatty to say something now :D )

One thing I am puzzled about is interior.

The Y reg I went and test drove the other day had black seat material with like squares on. I'm looking at other Y reg's and they have this grey material.

The 98bhp VTR was introduced in 2001 with new interior? Correct or Not?

50k's fine. Is FSH a must? Anything in particular I should be looking for on them?

I could hear a tappety sound when the VTR was running at idle the other day, this normal? Every few seconds you would hear it.

There are two types of material used on mk2 VTR's. 1999-2000 ones had the black material with the grey in the middle and different coloured stipes. The crossover plate was X but I think some Y regs might have that interior due to being sat around for a bit before being registered. 2001-2003 models should have the black all over with grey squares and different coloured shapes.

This is the earlier mk2 pattern that is in mine:

Some VTRs can sound quite tappety but as mentioned is usually noisy injectors, probably just have to live with it.

GT3 is yours 100bhp? What Yr is it?

The tappety noise isn't a problem, just wondered if it was the norm. :)
