Say bye bye to Kamann Ghia

Apparently they've just filed for bankruptcy following a massive drop in orders from the major manufacturers.

Looks like we might see fewer A4 or CLK convertibles, and they also make roof units for a number of cars including the Mustang, BMW 1 series and Chrysler sebring (guess that's no loss).

Wonder whether GM or Chrysler will be next?

Also the Ghia was a car not the name of the company. Very sad though, they have manufactured some excellent cars (though I see they were also responsible for the Renault 19 convertible...).

Manufacturers are wanting to not outsource manufacturing as much nowadays so that is why Pininfarina and Karmann are being hit hard. There will still be convertibles.
