Up to 20 people have been hurt and two are feared trapped after scaffolding collapsed at the site of a hotel in Milton Keynes.
Two walls collapsed causing scaffolding from 14 floor up to fall. Thames Valley Police said they believed a number of people had been injured.

Fire service and ambulance crews are attending. The Jury's Hotel and homes are being built at Whitton Gate site.

An eye witness said high winds were blowing when the accident happened.

linky

that cant have been nice.

Ouch, can just imagine. When I was a nipper, my dad had a 60ft drop from scaffolding and survived it. He still has problems to this day but someone must have been watching over him that day.

I always cringe when I hear about scaffolding accidents.

wow man, that is a miracle to be honest. Very lucky indeed.

A few people died a few years ago after falling off scaffolding due to not being attached when the new shopping centre was being built. I know that building. :( hope no one is seriously injured.

Didn't notice the earlier post, a search for 'scaffold' revealed nothing.

Anyway, I have just come back from a meeting and missed the action. This looks quite nasty and on the radio they have just said that three people have been 'recovered' from beneath the collapse. :(

Just heard about this from a guy on the site. said so far they have one guy whos injured his leg. And they are still trying to rescue other workers.

The HSE is gonna be all over this one! Someones head is definitely gonna roll for this one as in the construction industry you are guilty intill proben innocent.

If the company isn't a big setup they'll probably just fold up and re-open under a new name tomorrow, unless there's laws against that nowadays. That's what the company my dad worked for did, he didn't get a penny from them.

At least there's no fatalaties, thats one positive.

Looking at the latest photos and the height from which the scaffolding fell its incredible no one who was involved in dead.

I know exactly where that is. I walk past it on the way from the MK station to the shopping centre. Hope no-one is seriously injured but then what can you hope for when you have scaffolding and high winds combined like that.

Ouch, so many people could have been injured or killed on the ground and on the scaffolding.
