I'm still not convinced she's relaying the whole story back to you correctly.

Why would a profit making company pay for a freephone line just to give out advice such as "take it to a PC shop" to any old person?!?? They wouldn't.

We all know it's a reputable product/ company. HOWEVER it's the scammers tool of choice so when combined with a suspicious story or dodgy website it's 99% certain the people using it aren't legit.

If you someone mentions Logmein123 to a non-experienced techy then they should run a mile - as Miss Weaver once said 'It's the only way to be sure'.

We're all having a laugh about it but the OP's girlfriend knew nothing of it so a basic rule is avoid Logmein123 unless you know the other end.
