I love horror films and remember back to the days of seeing nightmare on elm street for the first time and Stephen King's IT.

Those were the days, obviously now i'm a lot older, but am wondering what you think is the scariest movie you've seen?

I fancy watching something that's going to frighten the pants off of me, is there such a thing for a 22 year old horror film lover?

I think you get desensitized to horror when you've grown up with it IMO.

Films like John Carpenters Halloween, the original Assault on Precinct 13 and The Birds were pretty scary when you're young. But to be honest I don't think modern horrors have the same/any effect.

Saying that Paranormal Activity was an original approach, and certainly scared a lot of people. The Orphan was also a fairly decent recent film in the horror genre, I recommend you see that :)

More likely Quatermass and the Pit > http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062168/

Or later John Mills TV Series was good as well > http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078129/

Can't say I've seen anything in years that was even remotely scary. I find films like 'Misery' to be more disturbing than out and out horrors. Last films I saw that I found scary-ish, dunno em...Event Horizon, In the Mouth of Madness, Jacob's Ladder, The Thing (good one that is), Prince of Darkness. IT was brilliant though. Salems Lot, David Soul vs Vampires etc gave me the hebegebes. Bit with a dead kid scratching on the window to come in...

I've seen a few older horror films, did nothing for me.
I've also watched a lot of new horror, still nothing.

So before you read this realise, I'm Alpha haha but;

I found The Unborn and also Drag Me To Hell, pretty scary.

Can't put my finger on why.

Not watched Salems Lot, but might give that a try.

What was that old Steven King one where the children get evil? Saw that as a kid and could never remember what it's called, want to look it up

Grudge, in the cinema

I actually wanted to leave/die

Only watch it at home if you've got a big screen, darkness and good speakers :)

Saw that the other night, I thought it was a poor knock off of Blair Witch and a horror film from years back called 'The Entity', http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082334/. Dunno if anyone's seen it, but I thought that was pretty darn scary.
