ok, so our school prom is getting closer and closer unfortunatly.

i need advice, if you had to walk around looking like a muppet for a few hours getting your picture taken and trying not to get curry down your top, what would you wear? and where on earth would you buy it?

dinner suit?

tuxedo?

whats the difference anyway?!?!:o

All the guys at our prom wore kilts
Cos we're pure scottish n proud :p

Suit seems the best idea - you can take the tie and jacket off when it comes to boogying on down

I fear that you are becoming "Americanised" too, don't know 100% what a "prom" is exactly, sounds a bit like a formal ball/excuse to get drunk.
Tuxedo is yank for dinner jacket which is the formal suit worn with a bow tie. To confuse things further, it can also be known as "black tie"

So tux=DJ=black tie

Depending on the event, I'd suggest investing in a M&S machine washable DJ especially if you're off to uni in the coming years, will save you a load on DJ rental and dry cleaning. The quality of them is excellent and not too expensive either. That's if it's a properly formal affair.
If it's just an excuse to get drunk at the end of school, any old suit will do. Really depends on they type of event but from what I gather off American comedy films like American Pie, people wear DJ's to "prom"
