School uniform cost

Yeah but we all know you don't have to spend that much for decent footwear.... Particularly for children!

£80 boots for winter
£45 for shoes
£10 trainers

It's not that much,my daughter has huge feet for a 9 year old and very narrow, she needs decent shoes, her clothes come from supermarkets ect,its only shoes that ill pay a lot for.

Looks reasonable. But if I had kids the boots might be ott?

"look at me, look at me, I'm loaded".

Its about average for good quality, no frills footwear for a child. Some of the rich kids £135 wouldn't even stretch to one of the half dozen pairs of shoes that don't even last 6 months before out of fashion they get through in a year.

How times change.

When I was at primary school my mother made much of my school clothing. (Shorts and shirts) My Grandmother specialised in knitting my pullovers. (When I outgrew them, she simply unravelled them and remade them one size up) She might even have knitted socks too.

Shoes were expensive, but also rather better made, It was normal to take outgrown shoes down to the second hand shop and trade them in against some shoes the next size up
