Scientists have discovered a ten billion trillion trillion carat diamond

It's been theorised that the cores of both the gas giants in our system (Jupiter and Saturn) are in fact diamonds larger than the planet earth. This has something to do with the carbon in the gaseous atmospheres filtering down and under the extreme pressure at the core being compressed into diamond.

Obviously there's no way of knowing for sure or ever getting to it though.

I'm not an expert so I can't really answer but I'm guessing no, probably due to the fact the sun is ignited and has a different elemental composition. I think it's specific to gas giants.

Yeah that's what I've been reading I did check though and apparently it's genuine, whether it's true or not is another matter.
