Let's abolish doctors, hopsital, all kinds of medicine. People just need to accept their fate.
 
It's funny, because a valid point was made about modern medicine making us weaker, and thus having to rely on it more and more, and everyone just jumps on him. Actually argue back instead of telling him to simmer down. :rolleyes:

Its not really a valid point because the main points he made were those of genetic disability, not medical related illnesses.

True, I'll give you that one. And I agree with him. Imo, it's incredibly selfish to have a life threatening disability and have a kid anyway just because you want one, especially if the chances of the kid picking up the same disease is high. Giving your child a lower quality of life just because you want one is something I can't really agree with.

I agree only partly with this. Sometimes its the disabled persons fault for doing this because they would refuse any alternative ... however the potential treatment of genetic engineering to create a valid disease free embryo is banned in most parts of the world, and even research into this area is not 'ethically' acceptable due only to societal fearmongering on the issue of 'scientists playing God only to create a new race of 3 headed humans!!!!1111 ZOMG /BAN'.

Genetic disease is imprinted into every single cell in the human body. Medicine is never going to be able to cure this, only GE is the possible solution, or until then IVF.
 
Im pro voluntary euthanasia, but I'm against leaving people to die just because they have some serious illness or accident. MOST people in such a situation would want their lives to be saved.

The choice of whether to save a persons life or not should NEVER be the choice of the doctors or the state, as a few people seem to be suggesting here.
 
You would always still need to breathe normally as the desire and sense to breathe comes from the body needing to exhale CO2, not from needing to inhale O2.

See, I know stuffs.

It's not a lower quality of life if you cannot tell the difference.

By your thinking the poor shouldn't have children.
 
Whilst this is a good advance it is not quite the godsend that it is being sold as. Once of the fundamental problems of paediatric respiratory arrest is not the oxygenation issue which is equally rectified with high dosage oxygen administration via mechanical means but rather the elimination of carbon dioxide. Without that you just end up with a highly oxygenated but rather dead acidotic patient.

tldr: Makes no odds you still need to bag them quick and ventilate them quick because oxygenation is not the issue it's the removal of carbon dioxide.
