I think a local tax system would be fairer, can't be nice for the parents of an English student struggling to help pay their kid's uni costs while some of the tax they have paid susbsidises Scottish students

As far as I know it doesnt stop English or any other national comming to this country they all get the same treatment as our home breed students, live in Edingburgh for a while Rotty, its spot the Scot half the time.... a great deal of English student's use the Uni campsus up here :D

That's true, however it also didn't stop the scottish MP's voting in top up fees here after the MSP's abolished tuition fees north of the border...

Perhaps a little equality on voting issue...

I have always said, and I repeat, Scottish MP's should not be voting on English issues only.... just national issues, the problem arises then with Committee Seletctions that cross the various divides in MP selection for these sittings, and thats where it get complicated extremely quickly, plus a Labour Government would never want to see a good majority of its Scoittsh MP have no vote in pushing through legislation. The tories wont, they have one MP up here, lol.....

We scots have no interest in what happens down there and I am sure its vice versa, unless you are of that nationality and live else where in Britain.

Regards

Vic

English students up here have to pay the tuition fees just as they would down in England, however they get the fourth year free (due to the ordinary three year programmes in England). They also don't have to pay the "Graduate Endowment" that Scottish students do so to an extent it levels out except the "Graduate Endowment" is significantly less than three years tuition fees would be.

It is true though that there are a lot of English students in Scotland, Edinburgh and St Andrews seem the most popular destinations. :)

There is a Video thread in GD if you want to post that.

I'd also remove it for the swearing as this is a family forum.

Edit: Whoops realised I have stepped out of SC and into GD so take that part back :p

Edit 2: Last one is good tho! :)

I was born in Scotland and live in Scotland, i would vote no to independance.
I don't love or hate England, we are joined by more than a border. We have a lot of history and to me that is important.
Currently i am with an Englishman and in the future i may end up moving down there, even though Edinburgh was just voted (in a Vodaphone (or some other company) poll) the best city to live, work and socialise.
