Scumbag car theives

You have to accept that these things happen, and deal with them.
You could have a hire car on your door step within an hour of ringing an insurance company, if they cant do it, get another insurer.

How many insurers have dual control cars ready for you to hire?

Gps mount. I take everything else out and into the house etc.

I know what you mean about getting worked up and I'm fine now, just angry at the time. Still hope the maggot walks infront of a bus!

Much as I hate being OCD about security, they do say to remove mounts :( Guess yours was just the incentive the guy needed to try a breakin.

I bet you feel absolutely personally violated :(

could it of been an ex pupil?

All my pupils so far have been very happy so no. Not unless they travel 40 miles and randomly drive round Glenrothes looking for a New Mini with no idea of where I live.

Had it been a "pro" your car would not be there.

what alarm / immobiliser did the cosworth have ?

as the which? report stated that the mini couldnt be driven away in their tests. The mini is a much newer car, and as the immobiliser is integrated into the engine (not a bolted on aftermarket one) finding it and disabling it is something on the unlikely side.

Stealing the car was not really an option I dont think. The security on the engiines fairly good. Short of towing it I doubt he would have succeded. Although if they REALLY want it........

I think it just looked to good to pass by and apparently someone else had their car broken into not far away at around the same time :(

imo you leave too much on show, i dont know what half that stuff is but there are some fancy looking cables 2 little box type things and a ufo type thing, they look kinda expensive to me.
leave the car empty dude!

As an Update I heard earlier this week that the muppets been convicted, But apparently I have to write in to find out what happened to him !!!

Also I'm on Windscreen No3 after a Seagiull tried to take me out at 60 MPH a while back.

Heres what happens when a Seagull flys into the windscreen at 60MPH and accellerating......
