hello chaps,

bought a scythe ninja which is supposedly compatible with my NSI NF4 Platinum SLI motherboard

however the heatpipes on one side firmly touch the capacitors... is this acceptable / safe?

The caps are bent back a touch and are not touching anything else...

maybe someone with a ninja will be able to tell me how hot these get...

had also thought of insulating with insulation tape - read that someone else had done that

have only dry fitted the cooler, so I can still remove, repackage and take back to the shop, bit miffed the compatibility issue is there as have seen quite a few with mt board and this cooler...

If you have the option of taking it back quite easily then I would do so, and get a cooler that fits better with a bit more clearance :)

wise words mate... I am going to refit my zalman, which was fine, the ninja was a treat for myself - it is going back...

cheers :)

hmmm, getting some conflicting advice to say that this will not be a problem, the capacitors are not super stressed just pushed to the side

anyone else with a ninja care to comment?

this is a rev b version which has the new mounting system, therefore it uses the original amd cpu mount and does not need a custom backplate

this in turn requires use of the amd cpu mount using a clip that screws to the botton of the ninja, the clip can only be mounted two ways - unfortunately both ways pushes the caps back
