Looks like this

p_SS30G2_b_sm.jpg

Has this

Intel core 2 duo/Intel Pentium D/Intel Pentium 4/
Intel Celeron D support
Intel 945G + ICH7
DDR2 400/533/667 dual Channel support
7,1 High Defi nation audio
Gigabit Ethernet
250w PSU

Will cost as little as

150 quid, on a straight $ to £ conversion, though perhaps a little bit more based on the UK's bloated rates.

When?

Approx week 42 was the answer I got from Shuttle EU. That's in 2 weeks time :D

Conclusion

I WANT

That does sound cool.

Are these shuttles likely to offer many overclocking options?

I'd rather spend £130 on an E6300 and take it to 2.5GHz than double that price for the E6600.

Well I'm not sure of the exact specification atm, though at the price its going for I wouldn't expect it to be an excellent overclocker. We'll see, going by Shuttles records you should beable to get at least a small overclock.

From past shuttles, you normally get mild overclocking options, but nothing overly impressive. However, a lot of Conroe chips are reaching serious heights at stock voltage, so all it would need is a good FSB range and the option to put a bit of extra voltage through the RAM, and we'd be set :)

this is lookin v.interesing :)

A. it means i can upgrade to a conroe without havin to spend silly money on an overpriced shuttle chassis

B. I get to stay with the G-Type chassis that i love so much. this means I can unclip the front panel of this and clip on my SN45G front panel etc (mmmm sexeh!)

found the support bit on the shuttle website but nothing about the actual product lol

http://global.shuttle.com/Download/Download_File.asp?Item=SD32G2

check out the manual download at the bottom of that page. not anythin about the spec but there is all the bios functionality in it, from the looks of it the overclocking options aint too shabby.

DDR2 1.9v - 2.1v
cpu +25mV - +800mV
cpu clock 133mhz - 335mhz
cpu multi 8x - 50x (which is just silly lol, 50x multi?!?!) assuming the cpu is unlocked
mem frequency 400mhz, 533mhz, 667mhz
all the usual mem timings

Theres a lot more popping up on the web about this now, and it has its own Shuttle page. End of October is the release. I for one cannot wait, shame it very likely won't beable to push a 6300 past 2.2ghz-ish, but I guess that's still fast enough for me.

And 250w is more than enough for a 7950gt and conroe. G80 and R600 though, I'm guessing likely not. (if they even have single slot coolers)...

Which brings me onto my next topic, is there any all in one res, pump and rad that I can just sit on the desk, pipe it in through the empty pci slot so it'll enable me to fit a dual slot gfx card without cutting the side of the case away using a water block? The Thermaltake Tidewater (a similar thing to the cooling solution of Sapphires Toxic range) is too big, shame really.
Better still, I wish Shuttle would jsut swap the damn PCI-e and PCI slots around so I can get the whole thing in there in the first place!

End of the month. Around the 25th. I couldn't wait and went for the sn21g5 and a 4600+.

This thing wont beable to overclock conroes more than a few hundred mhz.

might have a bit of trouble with that due to the daughterboard with the usb+sound ports (and power connectors etc)

if they released it in black it might actually be worth buying (in the g2 chassis)

good point, but majortiy of G-Type all have the same layout of the duaghter board. only difference is the connector to the mobo that i've seen. as long as it has line out and mic in, 2 usb's and a mini usb it should work

That 250W PSU will severly limit your GFX options won't it?

It wont power a 8800 series card, if you went to the trouble of cutting a hole out of the case for the to poke out. It'll do a 1900xt though, as well as every single slot card available atm.
